Iberia Carry-On Rules: Basic, Weight and Business

On Iberia-operated flights, every fare includes an overhead cabin bag and a personal item. Basic does not mean personal-item-only. Economy and Premium Economy have a published 10 kg cabin-bag limit; Business has 14 kg per bag and a route-dependent piece count.

Cabin allowance

The official FAQ limits departures from US airports to one overhead piece. Confirm this exception for a Business journey. The personal item belongs under the seat; the reviewed page does not state a separate numeric weight for it.

Measure and check your itinerary

Measure the packed bag at its outermost points and weigh it. The reviewed cabin page does not explicitly define wheels and handles; do not borrow a checked-baggage definition as a cabin-policy quote. Use the Basic checker or route checker. These tools assess one bag and cannot establish entitlement to a second Business piece.

Check the actual operator of each flight, including Iberia Express or another partner. A shared booking or flight number does not prove that every segment follows the same cabin rule.

When the bag goes in the hold

Iberia Regional Air Nostrum collects the larger bag at the aircraft door for free hold carriage and returns it there. Full flights may also require free hold carriage of a compliant bag. Exceeding dimensions or weight is different: arrange checked baggage according to your ticket and the current quote. There is no fixed gate fee stated here.

Keep documents, medicines and valuables accessible. Iberia's current cabin page limits powerbanks to two of at most 100 Wh each, prohibits their use onboard and storage in overhead lockers. Check its battery rules before travel. For liquids and screening, follow each airport's instructions; Iberia describes 100 ml containers in a 1-litre bag with conditional exceptions.

Children and checked baggage

An infant may have an additional bag of food, drink and flight essentials. CHD/INF tickets have the companion's checked allowance and a free buggy or car seat. Buggy cabin carriage and door return depend on space, airport and connections. A lap infant's fare is 10–30% of the companion's fare; onboard car-seat use requires a child ticket and approved seat.
