VietJet Carry-On Rules: Size, Weight & Bundles (2026)

Vietjet Air VJ Eco includes one main bag up to 56 × 36 × 23 cm and/or one permitted small personal item, with 7 kg combined. The main bag is not a paid-only Eco benefit. This page covers the Vietnamese operator VJ; check Thai Vietjet VZ separately.

Fare and route differences

Group 1 covers Vietnam domestic flights and international segments under seven hours. Group 2 covers segments of seven hours or more, including Australia, Kazakhstan and Europe. These are total cabin allowances, not permission to put the whole amount in one bag. Confirm the permitted distribution for your higher fare. The Vietjet checker models Eco and the general small-item box; a generic paid/priority choice does not select Deluxe or SkyBoss.

Labels, excess baggage and children

Vietjet requires cabin-baggage labels from staff at check-in and can recheck weight and size at the gate. Noncompliant bags may require payment or be refused. Airport charges are higher than advance purchase; obtain a quote for the specific flight rather than assuming a USD 10/25 fee.

Infants under two have no ordinary baggage allowance. Strollers are listed as free transport, but confirm packing and handover. A universal free car-seat service or return at the aircraft door is not established.

Liquids and batteries

International guidance uses containers up to 100 ml and a one-litre total, with specified medical, infant and sealed duty-free exceptions. Domestic Vietnam guidance has no ordinary liquid-volume cap within baggage limits; alcohol and odorous liquids have separate rules. Check transfer screening too. Power banks and spare batteries belong in cabin baggage with capacity and quantity restrictions. Vietjet does not accept electronic smoking devices.
