airBaltic Carry-On: MINI, BASIC and Business Rules

airBaltic Economy MINI includes only one 40×30×15 cm personal item, up to 8 kg. BASIC, CLASSIC and FLEX include one 55×40×23 cm main bag plus that personal item, sharing 8 kg. BUSINESS and Business EXPERIENCE allow two main bags plus one personal item, sharing 24 kg total.

Fare and weight limits

The personal item is part of the total, not an extra weight allowance. For example, a 7 kg main bag plus a 2 kg personal item is 9 kg and exceeds the standard Economy limit. Measure the packed external size. Bags must enter the sizer smoothly without force; do not rely on squeezing an overfilled backpack.

Upgrades and status

The paid heavy-cabin-baggage option raises the Economy total to 12 kg. On MINI it also adds a main cabin bag; on other Economy fares it does not add another piece. Check the quoted price in your booking. Executive members receive one main bag plus one personal item sharing 12 kg in Economy, including MINI; VIP members receive two main bags plus one personal item sharing 24 kg.

The official page lists a €40 heavy-cabin-baggage fee for exceeding the fare’s size/weight allowance. It separately says extra or oversized items may be refused or checked, if space is available, for a €75 check-in baggage fee. These are different handling scenarios, not a guaranteed €40 purchase of unrestricted cabin carriage.

Children and liquids

Infants with or without a seat have no separate cabin-baggage allowance. Children follow their fare. An infant or child booking may carry one collapsible stroller/pram, carrycot OR car seat free; do not assume all three are additional. A child safety seat used on board needs a separate seat and must satisfy airBaltic’s approval, width and installation requirements.

Ordinary liquids: containers up to 100 ml in one transparent resealable 1-litre bag per passenger. Check medical/baby-food exceptions and the current rules of each departure and transit airport. Partner-operated flights can have different baggage rules.
