Ryanair includes a 40×30×20 cm small bag. Priority & 2 Cabin Bags adds a 55×40×20 cm bag up to 10 kg. A non-included or oversized bag can incur a charge and hold carriage; do not assume free gate-checking or that seat selection includes Priority.

At 10 kg with Priority, you have enough for a week of warm-weather clothes. Lightweight fabrics, rolled rather than folded, make the allowance go further. Sandals take up significant space — consider wearing your bulkiest footwear on the plane.

easyJet: Middle Ground

easyJet's standard free allowance (45 × 36 × 20 cm) is useful for very light packers. The Large Cabin Bag add-on (56 × 45 × 25 cm, 15 kg) offers noticeably more room and is the better option for most travellers. At 15 kg, you have real flexibility — equivalent to a modestly packed checked bag.

easyJet enforces bag sizing at Lanzarote with overhead bin sizers in the gate area. Bags that are clearly overpacked or misshapen are flagged and charged.

César Manrique Airport (ACE): Practical Details

ACE is a medium-sized single-terminal airport with a compact layout. Security is straightforward — standard EU 100 ml liquids rules apply. The airport has:

• Hire car desks in arrivals: All major companies (Avis, Hertz, Europcar, local operators like Cabrera Medina) are in or immediately outside arrivals. No shuttle bus needed.
• Small departures hall: Shops and cafes are limited. Eat before security if you have a preference.
• Short security queues outside peak hours: During busy summer Saturday changeover days, queues can build. Arrive 2 hours before departure.
• Luggage storage: Not a large facility. If you need storage, most hotels in Puerto del Carmen offer left-luggage after checkout.

Packing for Lanzarote

Summer clothes only, year-round. Lanzarote sits at 29°N latitude and benefits from the Canary Current, which keeps temperatures mild even in winter. Pack shorts, t-shirts, and light dresses regardless of travel month. The only concession to the shoulder season (November–February) is a thin windproof jacket for evenings and breezy days near the coast.

Closed-toe shoes for volcano sites. Timanfaya National Park, Jameos del Agua, and the Cueva de los Verdes all involve walking on or near lava rock. Flip-flops and open sandals are impractical and unsafe. Pack one pair of closed-toe shoes or light trainers. They double as your airport shoes.

Hire car friendly packing. Most visitors rent a car at ACE and drive directly to their resort. A roller bag handles resort streets well — Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise, and Playa Blanca all have smooth paved roads. A backpack-only approach is unnecessary unless you are planning significant walking or hiking.
