Luxair — carry-on: size, weight and exceptions

Luxair Economy includes one 55×40×23 cm main bag up to 8 kg. Business includes two bags, 8 kg EACH. Both allow an additional personal item up to 40×30×20 cm.

The personal item and gate charge

Place the smaller item under the seat. The reviewed sources do not state a separate personal-item weight cap; this is not an unlimited-weight guarantee. An item exceeding 40×30×20 cm counts as an additional main cabin bag and is subject to its limits.

Luxair’s current table states an€89 gate charge when cabin size, weight or piece rules are exceeded. The bag then travels in the hold. Paying this charge does not buy another bag in the cabin. Space constraints can also require compliant bags to be checked; keep essentials with you.

Light fares and children

Light still includes the main cabin bag, but no checked bag. Smart/Flex and Business have different hold allowances; verify your ticket instead of assuming that every full-service fare includes checked luggage.

The flight-only table lists one car seat OR one stroller for infants on all fares. The cabin page lists child accessories subject to available space, with free hold carriage if space is unavailable. Do not infer that every accessory is guaranteed in the cabin or that several equipment items are automatically free. Confirm your child’s allowance and handover arrangements.

Before you pack

Measure the fully packed bag, including protruding pockets, handles and wheels. Weigh it with all accessories. A published limit is not a tolerance: a bag above it is not made compliant by travelling in Business or boarding early.

Confirm the operating carrier and applicable allowance for every segment. Keep documents, essential medicines and valuables accessible if staff need to check your main bag.
