Copa Airlines Carry-On: 56×36×26 cm and 10 kg

Copa permits one cabin bag up to 56×36×26 cm and 10 kg, including handles and wheels, plus one personal item up to 43×25×22 cm under the seat. The respective totals are 118 cm and 90 cm. Both individual dimensions and the total matter. A separate personal-item weight is not published.

Fare and status

The current passenger page gives one main bag to all passengers, including Business and Star Alliance Gold. A 2025 agency bulletin describes a narrow exception for connecting Gold passengers whose two bags were already accepted; confirm that specific entitlement instead of assuming two bags. Checked baggage is separate: the standard fare table gives Classic one 23 kg bag, Full two 23 kg bags and Business Promo/Full two 32 kg bags; Basic checked bags cost extra. Route, date and status exceptions require the booking calculator.

Measuring and connections

Measure the packed exterior, including wheels, and weigh the bag. A 55×40×20 cm case exceeds the 36 cm side even though its total is below 118 cm. Use the checker for each operating airline on a connection. Excess pieces or oversize bags can go to the hold with applicable charges; no fixed gate fee or tolerance is guaranteed. Keep documents, medicines and valuables accessible.

Children and liquids

For an infant aged 0–23 months, Copa lists one eligible extra item: an approved seat when a seat was bought, a small folding stroller, or a diaper bag. The carry-on page limits the diaper bag to personal-item dimensions; the infant page says cabin-bag dimensions. Use 43×25×22 cm or obtain confirmation for a larger bag. Small strollers are limited to 110 cm length; larger ones go to the counter. From age two, a cabin-size stroller replaces the child’s main bag. Do not assume all equipment or gate handling is free.

Ordinary liquids use containers up to 100 ml in a transparent resealable bag up to one litre. Declare necessary larger medical liquids and breast milk to screening staff; follow departure and transfer airport instructions.
