Garuda Indonesia carry-on: 7 kg and 56×36×23 cm

The current Garuda Indonesia policy describes one free cabin bag plus one personal item for most Garuda-operated flights. Confirm the operating carrier, fare and any route or aircraft exception in your booking.

General allowance

Measure the packed bag including wheels, handles and outer pockets. Each side must fit its limit; a smaller width does not compensate for excessive length. The personal-item rule does not publish a separate numeric box or weight. Do not treat that absence as an unlimited extra allowance.

Business and special cases

The current general rule does not establish two Business bags of 9 or 10 kg each. Garuda says rules can vary by route, class, fare and destination. Use the ticket-specific exception if one is confirmed, rather than assuming that a class upgrade automatically adds cabin bags.

Infants and checked baggage

A cabin-size stroller is listed among permitted personal items; cabin use remains subject to safe stowage and approval. Under the new infant policy, a named lap infant linked to the adult booking can receive an additional checked piece matching the adult allowance. Confirm equipment handover and return; this is not a promise of delivery at the aircraft door.

Checked baggage moved to a piece concept for tickets issued from 1 September 2026. Earlier tickets and involuntary changes can retain the old weight concept. This checked-baggage change does not create a larger cabin allowance. If your cabin bag exceeds the rules, Garuda may require checking it; a universal excess fee is not established here. Airport security and liquid restrictions need their own check.
