Volaris Carry-On: Zero, Basic, Plus and the 20 kg Total

Every Volaris fare includes one 45×35×20 cm personal item under the seat. The entitled main bag is 55×40×25 cm, up to 10 kg. The personal item and main bag must weigh no more than 20 kg combined. The current policy does not publish a separate personal-item weight.

What each fare includes

Zero: personal item only; no included main or checked bag. Basic: personal item plus one 15 kg checked bag, but no included main cabin bag. Plus: personal item, one main cabin bag and one 25 kg checked bag. The checked-bag size limit is 158 cm total. Zero and Basic can buy a main cabin bag for domestic or international flights. A checked bag does not grant cabin access.

Check My Trips for the actual purchase, route and any specific benefit. Old names such as Light, Classic or Basic+ do not describe this current table. A 20 kg combined allowance does not allow a 20 kg main bag or two main bags. Fees vary by route, season and purchase timing; published ceilings are not an itinerary quote.

Measure and use the checker

Measure the packed exterior and weigh both pieces. Basic fare in the checker represents Zero/Basic cabin entitlement; use Paid cabin bag after a valid purchase or Selected class/Economy for Plus. The tool checks one main bag against 10 kg and does not add both weights. Verify the 20 kg total separately. No allowance for unpurchased space or observed gate tolerance is assumed.

Babies and contents

The current baby page says a child from seven days to under two can travel in an adult’s lap without an extra fare. A stroller travels free in the hold after handover at the aircraft door; confirm airport handling. The paid Baby Combo adds a diaper bag up to 10 kg and 25×40×40 cm plus one checked baby item such as a car seat, crib or carrier. Cabin car-seat use requires an adult ticket and FAA-approved equipment. A free stroller does not make every child item free.

Check current airport security instructions for liquids, necessary medicines and infant feeding. Volaris states a 100 ml container limit for ordinary cabin liquids; obtain clarification for special needs before departure.
