China Eastern Carry-On Rules & Bag Allowance 2026

China Eastern publishes 55 × 40 × 20 cm per main cabin bag. Economy and Premium Economy include one bag up to 8 kg; Business and Premium Business two up to 8 kg each; First two up to 10 kg each. The current domestic and international/regional tables agree with section 7.4 of the January 2026 conditions. The old 5 kg Economy figure is not the current published rule.

Main bag and personal item

Two 8 kg pieces do not allow one 16 kg bag. One small personal item is explicitly additional and free, placed under the seat. The airline gives 35 × 32 × 18 cm as reference dimensions of the space under the seat, not a guaranteed bag-size box. No separate personal weight is established. Measure the entire packed exterior conservatively; the reviewed text does not explicitly define wheels and handles.

Excess and infant equipment

Excess weight, size or pieces must be checked. Arrange this at check-in: the conditions warn that bags intercepted at the gate require security rechecking and may miss the flight. No universal CNY 200/300 fee, inspection frequency or tolerance is established here. Obtain the itinerary-specific checked allowance and excess quote.

The ordinary carry-on table excludes infants. The accompanying passenger may separately carry journey food/diapers, a folding stroller up to 55 × 40 × 20 cm suitable for cabin storage, and the listed cradle or child restraint. Larger strollers go in the hold. Restraint use requires an occupied seat and approval conditions; confirm booking and handover arrangements. Do not assume a universal infant-fare percentage or gate return.

Security differs by flight type

International/regional guidance uses containers up to 100 ml in one resealable transparent 1-litre bag. Domestic rules restrict ordinary liquids and have specific personal-use, infant and medical exceptions; check airport screening separately.

Power banks and spare batteries belong in the cabin, protected against short circuits, not in checked bags or overhead bins. Do not use or recharge them in flight. China Eastern limits power banks to two and applies capacity/approval conditions; Chinese domestic flights additionally prohibit unclear/missing 3C marks and recalled models or batches.
